Getting Started

  1. Pray for your group and who you will invite. Then start inviting people.
  2. Everyone in your group should have their own copy of the Daily Guide. As a “thank you” for hosting, we’ve included a complimentary copy for you.
  3. The Daily Guide ($10) can be purchased at the bookstore during weekend services. Also, check your campus office for other times.
  4. Read the Introduction in your Daily Guide to get the most out of your Small Group experience.
  5. Day 1 of the Daily Readings begins on Monday, January 16th.

Leader Orientation

  • If you are new to hosting a group, be sure to attend one of the scheduled host orientations.
  • if you are a current small group host and you want a ‘refresher”‘ we invite you to join us.

Who should I invite?
Invite your coworkers, parents from your child’s sports or school events, your running club, people you know from church, etc.
Where can I host a group?

• Meet at your house or ask other group members if they will host the group at their home.

• Host your group at church, coffee shops, your workplace, etc.
• Host a group online using Zoom, Hangouts, Skype, or other apps.
What if my schedule is inconsistent?
• Plan your meeting dates and times in advance to share with your invitees.
• Ask someone to co-lead with you. Your co-lead can lead the meetings you can’t attend.
• Lead an online group. You can keep your meeting times even when you travel. Email smallgroups@churchoftheking.com to get started.
Are there childcare options?
• Check with your campus coordinator to determine if free childcare is offered at your campus.
• Access the small groups’ childcare reimbursement policy at ChurchoftheKing.com/smallgroups.
How can I encourage others to host a group?
• Identify people in your group who are ready to host their own group. Encourage them to step out for the six-week Extraordinary Living study.
• Ask emerging leaders to co-host together.
• Turn your group over to the emerging leader, and start another group during the series.
• Remind small group members of the opportunity to reach family, friends, and co-workers.
• Emerging leaders can still participate with your group while hosting their own group.
